After having a breakfast in the hotel, you will meet the Omani Guide at 8:00 a.m.
Begin your journey from Muscat towards the majestic Hajar Mountains. Enjoy the scenic drive as you head west.The drive usually takes around 3 hours towards Jebel Shams.
Al Hamra / Stop at Al Hamra
A short break in the historic town of Al Hamra to grab snacks or essentials before we ascend into the mountains.
Al Hayl / Grand Canyon
start driving up to Jebel shams, the Road is mixed between black top & off road. it will take us to the view point of Grand Canyon.
Jabal Shams / Hiking start point
Arrival at Village Trail head
Park the vehicles at the starting village Khateem .Receive a safety briefing and gear orientation by our certified guides. Helmets, harnesses, and Via Ferrata Kit will be provided.
Jabal Shams / Balcony Walk
The "Balcony Trek" is a 2 hour guided hike dating back 300 years, that takes place on an old path connecting the famously deserted village of San Bani Khamis where you can see what the local lifestyle was there 70 years ago, also known as Oman's Grand Canyon. we will continue walking for about 4.5 km till we reach to the hidden lake in the bottom of the mountain. there we can rest & getting ready for a via ferrata part.
Jabal Shams / Via Ferrta
Upon reaching the cliff section we’ll transition to the Via Ferrata (iron path). Using safety cables and iron rungs anchored into the rock, you’ll climb and traverse with full protection under the guidance of our team.(the climbing route is hung with a stainless-steel cable fixed to the rock to which the climbers affix a harness with two leashes, reaching all the way up 200m cliffs. it will take about 2 hours.)* All safety gear included* No prior climbing experience required (basic fitness needed)

End Point & ReturnAfter completing the loop, we’ll begin the return journey to Muscat.On the way we will stop at local restaurant to have lunch.
